Arrive in Atlanta
Fly into Atlanta and enjoy two nights in this cosmopolitan city, visiting its wide range of must-see attractions including the World of Coca Cola, the National Centre for Civil and Human Rights (closed until September 2025), and the Martin Luthur King Jr National Historic Park and his nearby childhood home. Visit pretty Centennial Olympic Park, a legacy of the 1996 Olympic Games that were held in the city. Dining is a pleasurable experience in Atlanta with some fabulous restaurants including BoccaLupo and The Consulate. For a mix of shopping and a choice of eateries, Ponce City Market comes recommended.

Atlanta to Sevierville, 210 miles
Drive to Sevierville, located at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park surrounded by beautiful scenery. The city is also the childhood home of one of the biggest country stars in the world Dolly Parton. Sevierville is the perfect base to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the pretty town of Gatlinburg and Anakeesta, a mountaintop adventure park surrounded by pristine wilderness and jaw-dropping mountain views. Spend a day in nearby Pigeon Forge, home of the epic theme park Dollywood and back in Sevierville, visit Shine Girl owned by Danielle Parton, niece of Dolly and taste its delicious flavours of moonshine and shop until you drop at the Tanger Outlets.

Sevierville to Lexington, 202 miles
Enroute to Lexington why not stop in the Harland Sanders Café and Museum, the restaurant that Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, ran in the 1940s and 50s and where he developed the famous KFC secret recipe. Next stop is Lexington, Kentucky, the ‘Horse Capital of the World’ and over 450 Thoroughbred and Standardbred farms. For an authentic equine experience, visit the Kentucky Horse Park, the world’s only park dedicated exclusively to the horse. Visit the Ark Encounter, 90 minutes outside of Lexington, a large, state-of-the-art representation of Noah's Ark based on the Genesis flood narrative contained in the Bible. It is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high and brings Noah’s story to life.

Lexington to Louisville, 75 miles
Just a short drive west you will arrive in Louisville, the largest city in Kentucky and the home of the famous Kentucky Derby horse race. The Kentucky Derby Museum offers an excellent hands-on experience and a magnificent audio-visual display that captures the Derby Day atmosphere on a 360° screen. The city is also the birthplace of Muhammad Ali, and you can learn about his road to fame and fortune as one of the world’s greatest boxers at the Muhammad Ali Centre. Downtown Louisville rolls gently down towards Main Street then abruptly lunges down to the river where the historic Belle of Louisville leaves for daily sightseeing cruises.
