Start your journey in New Orleans, making your way to your hotel upon arrival. The city is a music lover's paradise, and the jazz and blues clubs are too numerous to mention. Take time to visit the magical botanical garden and visit the levees to see how they protect the city from the mighty waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Why not try an evening journey on a paddle steamer for a dinner cruise on the mighty Mississippi River and discover the unique atmosphere of "The Big Easy" at night.

It’s time to start your road trip by taking a drive over the impressive Lake Pontchartrain bridge into Mississippi on the way to Mobile - a port city on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. The city’s WWII-era USS Alabama battleship is anchored in Battleship Memorial Park and is well worth a visit. You can also get a feel of Mobile’s past at the 1850 Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception which features intricate German-stained glass and is a sight not to miss. With a great range of restaurants offering everything from steaks to seafood, the city can certainly offer gastronomic delight.

Today you continue your journey through Alabama and into the state of Florida. Travelling along the Gulf Coast, you will pass through untouched wildlife preserves and natural habitats before passing through Pensacola. Located a short 20 miles from Pensacola, Navarre offers the emerald-green water of the Gulf and the unspoiled beaches of Santa Rosa Island whilst also being close to both Pensacola and Fort Walton beaches for some retail therapy.

Continue your journey by venturing inland to the capital of Florida, Tallahassee. Make your way to the home of one of the deepest freshwater springs in the world and look out for amazing wildlife, including alligators, deer and turtles. The park offers daily riverboat guided tours to view the incredible wildlife.

As you leave the state capital behind, you will see the beautiful views along the Gulf Coast on the way to Crystal River, the gem of Florida's nature coast. Crystal River is recognized for its manatee-watching opportunities and Kings Bay, which is fed by springs, is home to the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge which shelters manatees year-round. Boardwalks at Three Sisters Springs Wildlife Refuge offer views of the marine mammals and the natural springs. After the delights and grace of the manatees, take a walk down the streets of Crystal River and enjoy the historic landmarks of the city.

As you continue your journey along the Gulf of Mexico you will reach the Tampa Bay area, where you can enjoy the scenic view of the expansive open water estuary. Passing by beautiful beaches such as Clearwater, you will arrive at St. Pete’ Beach, home for the next 2 nights, which is set on a barrier island to the west of St. Petersburg. The imposing pink building better known as the Don Cesar is as impressive now as when it was first constructed. Enjoy the golden white sand of the beach and visit the many shops and restaurants along St. Pete.

Continuing south down the Gulf Coast en route to Naples, stop to visit the soft white sandy beach and deep blue water of Sanibel Island before heading onwards to the fantastic city of Naples. The city offers a relaxing atmosphere in the most idyllic of settings. Enjoy the beach, walk through the historic town centre with its array of shops, admire the Spanish architecture defining the area and take in a fantastic Florida sunset. You could also take a short drive to the neighbouring Marco Island for extra wonderful views.

Today you’ll drive through Everglades National Park, known as "Alligator Alley“ due to its large colony of fresh water alligators. Your journey ends in the exciting city of Miami Beach, the jewel of the Atlantic Ocean, where you will return your car. Miami Beach is all about the outdoor lifestyle, the delicious food and lively nightlife. Famed for its art deco architecture and design, the Miami Art Deco District consists of hundreds of architecture styles, mainly dating back to between 1925 and 1940. The buildings have been lovingly and carefully restored to maintain the glamourous feel of the area. No trip to Miami Beach is complete without visiting South Beach and walking along Oceans Drive, taking time to relax, sunbathe and stroll.

Bid farewell to Miami before heading to Miami International Airport for your homebound flight.
