Upon arriving into Los Angeles, you have the afternoon and evening free to explore or simply relax before collecting your motorhome the following day.

Collect your motorhome and head off to your first stop, the Joshua Tree National Park. Your drive will take you east into Riverside County and past the vast wind-turbine farms of the Coachella Valley. With numerous trails and spectacular desert scenery to admire, this stopover is just the beginning of your wonderous journey.

Your drive will take you northbound where you will pass Lake Havasu to the south, crossing the Colorado River that feeds the lake as you leave California for Arizona. Visit the Arizona Route 66 Museum or take a tour of Arizona’s oldest craft distillery (must pre-book).

Today’s drive will take you through the town of Williams, which is the home to the Grand Canyon Railway and Railway Hotel. Leaving Williams, head north through the Kaibab National Forest and into the Grand Canyon with its magnificent vistas, trails and wildlife.

On departing the Grand Canyon, head north to Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam. Although not on the same scale as Hoover Dam, Glen Canyon Dam also produces hydroelectricity. Take in the magnificent Antelope Canyon with a guided walking tour (reservations are mandatory) or the Rainbow Bridge National Monument by boat from Wahweap Marina at Lake Powell Resort.

The drive to Bryce Canyon National Park takes you from Arizona to Utah. Visit Sunrise and Sunset Points and be sure to look out for views of Bryce Amphitheatre.

On your drive to Zion, you will take the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway along state road 9. The scenery is stunning and will give you a taste of what Zion has to offer. Take the shuttle on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive to experience some of the best scenery.

Your journey now takes you from mother nature to the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. Enjoy an evening show, take a journey on the High Roller at the Linq for stunning views of the Las Vegas Valley and walk around some of the most stunning hotels in the USA - be sure to watch the water fountain display at the Bellagio.

Today you climb the mountain passes into the high desert as you travel back into California. Pass through the town of Primm at the Nevada/California state line, home to the last 3 hotel & casinos in Nevada. Visit Calico Ghost Town, originally established around 1881 and abandoned in the mid 1890s. The town was bought by Walter Knott in the 1950s and all but the five original buildings were restored to show the town as it was in the 1880s. In complete contrast, nearby Barstow is home to the Outlets at Barstow if you’d like to enjoy some retail therapy.

Today’s journey takes you through flat valleys and Bakersfield as you head towards Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. With huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns and the world’s largest trees, the diversity of landscapes in these national parks shows nature at its finest. Explore the giant forest of sequoia trees and marvel at the largest of them all, the General Sherman Tree.

Today you’ll journey to Yosemite, with its towering granitic rock formations and cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. Also known for its ancient sequoia trees, Tunnel View and the iconic vista of towering Bridal Veil Falls, the park offers stunning viewpoints. In Yosemite Village there are shops, restaurants and the Yosemite Museum and Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned landscapes of the area.

Today you’ll leave the national parks for the city of San Francisco. Experience the hairpin turns of Lombard Street, take a ferry to Alcatraz Island and explore Fisherman’s Wharf, where you can sample some of the fantastic Clam Chowder. Try some of the fantastic Chinese cuisine in Chinatown or hire a bike for some saddle-bound sightseeing.

Welcome to the coastal towns of Monterey and Carmel. Take in Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf or the Monterey Aquarium, or opt to go on a whale watching tour. Drive 17-mile drive -one of the most iconic and scenic drives. Enjoy a fantastic meal at the Hog’s Breath Inn in Carmel, whose former owners include Clint Eastwood.

Take the scenic Pacific Coast Highway to the charming towns of Morro Bay and Pismo Beach. The area is excellent for surfing, biking and hiking. Home to flocks of Peregrine falcons, Egrets and blue Herons, the 50-acre Morro Rock is the last in a chain of extinct volcanoes and is a must-see. Enjoy breakfast at Dorn’s Restaurant which overlooks Morro Rock. Whilst in Pismo Beach, put Monarch Butterfly Grove and Pismo Pier on the “must-see” list.

Travel to Los Angeles for the final day of your adventure. Time to enjoy some last minute retail therapy in Beverly Hills, see the Hollywood sign or walk on Santa Monica Pier and watch the sunset over the horizon of the Pacific Ocean.

Return your motorhome before heading to Los Angeles airport for your homebound flight, during which you can reflect on the holiday of a lifetime!
